Built just before 1900, it was once the most popular place on the city’s bawdy Front Street along the Arkansas River. The “house” later renamed “Miss Laura’s” has been maginificently restored in Victorian Splendor after sustaining heavy damage from a 1996 tornado. Volunteers who greet Fort Smith visitors seeking tourist information make “Miss Laura’s” a stop in itself, but don’t expect any “orginal” hospitality. Has a gift shop.”
